The Watson Township Board of Supervisors has scheduled a special public meeting to conduct township business on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mifflin Township Building, 106 First Fork Road, Jersey Shore PA.

WHITE GOODS COLLECTION DAY will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Watson Township Recycling Center from 8:00 a.m. - Noon only.  Accepted will be Air Conditioners, Washers, Dryers, Dehumidifiers, Water Heaters, Refrigerators, Freezers, Stoves, and Ovens.  NOT accepted will be Tires, Furniture, TVs, Microwaves, and Light Bulbs/Fixtures.  A $20 fee will be charged for appliances containing freon.

The JULY REGULAR PUBLIC MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS will be held on the third Monday, July 19, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mifflin Township Municipal Building, 106 First Fork Road, Jersey Shore.

The Watson Township Board of Supervisors has scheduled a special meeting on July 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Norman Engineered Designs Office Building, 3256 Woodward Ave., Avis PA to open and award the bids for the Gamble Run Culvert Repalacement Project.

The Watson Township Board of Supervisors is accepting sealed written bids for the following single-prime construction project: Gamble Run Culvert Replacement, Watson Township, Lycoming County, PA. Sealed bids for the Gamble Run Culvert Replacement will be received by mail addressed to Norman Engineered Designs, PO Box 126, Avis PA 17721, until 10:00 am, local prevailing time, Monday July 5, 2010. Sealed bids can also be hand delivered to Norman Engineered Designs Office Building, 3256 Woodward Avenue, Avis, PA between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., local prevailing time, Monday through Friday, until 10:00 a.m., local prevailing time July 5, 2010. The outside envelope must be clearly marked as âSealed Bid Enclosed.ã The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud during a Special Meeting of the Watson Township Board of Supervisors, at Norman Engineered Designs Office Building, 3256 Woodward Avenue, Avis, PA Monday July 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., local prevailing time. All Bids must be accompanied by either a certified check, certified bank treasurerás check, bank cashierás check or bid bond. The security provided shall be in an amount equal to 10% of the base bid. The security shall name as payee or obligee the Watson Township Board of Supervisors. A non-mandatory Pre-bid Conference will be held at 10 a.m., local prevailing time, Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Project Site. Additional site visitations may be arranged by contacting Mr. Dennis E. Norman, at (570) 753-8120. The Project Manual and Drawings may be reviewed at the Watson Township Office, 1710 Ridge Road. The Project Manual and Drawings for bidding purposes may also be reviewed or obtained at Norman Engineered Designs, 3256 Woodward Avenue, Avis, PA 17721; Phone: (570) 753-8120, Email: normanengr@comcast.net, on or after Wednesday, June 16, 2010 upon deposit of $100 for one set of General Construction Drawings and Project Manuals (plus $25 for expense of postage and handling if documents are requested to be mailed to bidder), which amount (less postage and handling) will be refunded to the bidder only upon submission of a bona fide bid and the return of the Drawings and Project Manuals, including addenda, to the Watson Township Board of Supervisors in reusable condition within ten (10) days after the date of the opening of bids; otherwise, the deposit will be forfeited. Additional sets of Drawings and Project Manuals may be purchased. Notice is given that the project for which construction bids are being solicited hereby is a project constituting public works and is subject to applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, and appropriate prevailing minimum wage rates as promulgated under provisions of said Act must be paid by contractors in connection with performance of the necessary work. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance, maintenance and payment bonds and all insurances as set forth in the Contract Documents. Work shall be started on the project no later than the date set forth in, the Notice to Proceed issued by the Owner. The Notice of Award is expected to be issued on July 5, 2010. The project work shall be substantially complete on September 30, 2010 and ready for use on or before September 30, 2010. The Watson Township Board of Supervisors reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or bidding irregularities, and to make the award in the best interest of the Township.

The MAY REGULAR PUBLIC MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS will be held on the second Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mifflin Township Municipal Building, 106 First Fork Road, Jersey Shore.

The 2010 REGULAR PUBLIC MONTHLY MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS will be held on the third Tuesday of each month, except the second Tuesday in April. These meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Mifflin Township Municipal Building, 106 First Fork Road, Jersey Shore.  The meeting dates are as follows: January 19, February 16, March 16, April 13, May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, September 21, October 19, November 16, & December 21.
